Cusco
What?! A llama?!
Cusco is located near the Urubamba Valley of the Andes mountain at 3,400 m high. The site was the historic capital of the Inca Empire from the 13th until the 16th-century Spanish conquest. In 1983,Cusco was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO with the title "City of Cuzco".
I spent a few weeks in Cusco after my internship in the national park of Cutervo. It is a wonderful town, really beautiful. The archaeological sites near Cusco (Ollantaytambo, Pisac, Machu Picchu...) as well as the surrounding nature, are stunning. It was interesting to learn about the Inca empire, the Cusco Region is rich in history and has an atmosphere I couldn´t describe. The archaeological sites are filled with an energy, and astoniching vibes. I had a great time visiting the area.
